FAQ

What is BizBuyout?

BizBuyout is a US marketplace for buying and selling small and mid sized businesses. The portal connects listings with electronic NDAs, a permissioned data room and a buyer pipeline. Buyers, owners and brokers handle their own negotiations and transaction decisions.

Is BizBuyout a business broker?

No. BizBuyout provides a marketplace portal and subscription tools. It does not represent either party, negotiate a sale, provide a manual valuation or give legal or tax advice. Arrange any professional advice you need independently.

Can I search businesses without paying?

Yes. Searching is free for buyers and is separate from the subscription plans. Use industry, location and financial filters to narrow your search. Buyer Premium is an optional subscription for the additional features listed on the business listing pricing page.

What happens when no listing matches my search?

The results page shows “No listings match these filters right now” and “Get an alert when one is listed”. Confirm your email to save the search filters for matching listing alerts. Saving an alert does not guarantee a listing will match or become available within a particular time.

Can I sell without a broker?

Yes. Owner Listing and Owner Featured support owners managing a direct sale. You must own the business or have authority to list it, keep the information accurate and decide what to disclose. The sell my business page explains that path.

Can I hide my business name in a public listing?

You can omit identifying details from the public summary and share them through controlled document access. Review photos, location detail and the description carefully because they can identify a business indirectly. Confidentiality controls cannot undo information you publish or a document someone has already downloaded.

Who can read confidential financial documents?

The seller or authorized broker controls data room permissions. A buyer must accept the applicable NDA and receive the required access before reviewing confidential documents. A subscription or signed NDA alone does not override the seller's permissions. Public financial summary fields remain visible on the listing.

What does the NDA acceptance log contain?

The log records the buyer's acceptance, its time, the NDA text version, IP address and user agent. It helps connect an acceptance record to the relevant listing. The parties are responsible for reviewing the terms and seeking legal advice about their agreement.

Can I use my own NDA template?

Broker Pro includes a custom NDA template. Check the business sale NDA feature page and your plan details before choosing a workflow. You remain responsible for your template, authority to use it and whether it fits the transaction.

Does a verified buyer profile prove the buyer can pay?

No. Profile verification and buyer scoring help organize review and do not guarantee available funds, financing, identity or completion. Request appropriate evidence and assess it independently before sharing sensitive information or agreeing to terms.

What does the data room do?

The virtual data room gives sellers control over document permissions for each buyer, with seller approval, buyer watermarks and access logs. Keep access current when a conversation ends. These tools support confidentiality but do not prevent every misuse of information.

What is included in the buyer CRM?

The CRM for business brokers follows inquiries through NDA, data room review, conversations, offers and close. Notes, tasks and reminders keep the next action with the buyer record, reducing the need to reconstruct progress from separate email threads.

Where do broker directory profiles come from?

The directory uses public license registries. A directory entry is not a review, endorsement or guarantee of current license status, identity or suitability. Check the underlying record and the broker's authority for your transaction. Email [email protected] about a correction or profile ownership concern.

How does the business valuation calculator work?

The business valuation calculator applies displayed industry multiple ranges to your SDE or EBITDA input, with adjustments for size and years in business. The lower estimate is visible first, and confirming your email reveals the full range and breakdown. It is a one time calculation, separate from a subscription, and is not an appraisal or a sale price guarantee.

Why do I need to enter an email code?

The code confirms control of the email address used for your signup. Enter the 6 digit code within 15 minutes, check your spam folder if needed and use the most recent code. Resending has a 60 second cooldown. An existing email continues with its existing signup rather than creating a duplicate.

Does email confirmation charge my card?

No. Confirming your email saves your signup and any selected plan or search details. It does not authorize a payment. A paid subscription begins only after you accept billing terms and authorize payment through secure checkout.

Which billing period is selected first?

Yearly billing is selected by default, with a toggle to monthly billing. The pricing page shows the full yearly charge and its monthly equivalent alongside the monthly billing price. Review the selected period before authorizing payment.

Can I cancel my subscription and receive a refund?

You can cancel any time to stop the next renewal. There are no refunds for paid periods or unused time, and access continues until the end of the paid period. This does not exclude rights that applicable law requires us to preserve.

Can one payer have multiple subscriptions?

No. Each payer may hold one subscription. Choose the listing allowance and seats that fit your needs, and give permitted team members their own authorized access within that plan. Do not combine duplicate payer accounts to bypass the rule.

Does BizBuyout take a sale commission?

No. BizBuyout charges a flat subscription and takes no commission on a sale. Professional fees or financing costs you agree with other providers are separate from the subscription and are your responsibility.

Does a listing or featured position guarantee a buyer?

No. Publication, featured placement and alerts do not guarantee inquiries, offers, financing or a completed sale. Buyers decide which opportunities to review, and sellers decide whom to approve. Keep your description accurate and your documents ready for substantive questions.

What does Product preview mean?

Product preview labels an illustration of a BizBuyout interface, such as the NDA log or buyer pipeline. It explains the workflow and is not a business listing, an actual transaction record or evidence of customer activity.

How do I stop listing alerts or request my data?

Use the unsubscribe link in an alert email to stop those emails. For access, correction, deletion or another privacy request, email [email protected] from your account address. We verify requests as needed and apply the rights and retention limits described in the Privacy Policy.

How do I get support or report a listing?

Email [email protected] with your account email, the relevant page or listing link and a concise description. Include an invoice reference for billing issues, but leave out card details, verification codes and confidential deal documents. The BizBuyout contact page explains what helps us review your message.
